The Film Museum

Welcome to the Film Museum and feel the atmosphere of the birthplace of film in Sweden!

It all began in the attic studio on Östra Storgatan in Kristianstad in 1905, when Kristianstads Biograf-Teater was founded. One employee was aspiring film legend Charles Magnusson, who later went on to a career in Hollywood. The Film Museum today contains the completely intact film studio. The pioneering days of film in Kristianstad are highlighted in the exhibition about this exciting period, and the success of the Swedish silent movies during the 1910s and 1920s.

Admission is free.
